They occur in Poland and delight with their colors. These birds are hard to miss
It may seem that stunning, colorful birds can only be found in the tropics. However, as it turns out, those found in Poland can also delight with their appearance. Which ones attract attention with their colors?
The most characteristic birds in Poland include, among others: kingfisher. This bird nests in burrows by rivers, far from the shore. It is also worth paying more attention to male orioles, which have intensely yellow-orange feathers. The most famous in Poland, and also exceptionally colorful, is the great tit, distinguished by yellow and green plumage and a black top of the head.
Few people, on the other hand, may be familiar with the European bee-eater, which usually builds its nests in burrows dug in slopes and cliffs. It is also worth mentioning the Alexandrine parrot, which attracts attention with its intense green color, and the yellow wagtail. Particularly interesting birds also include the common roller and the great spotted woodpecker.
The kestrel, in turn, is one of the most colorful birds of prey. The largest colorful Polish birds include the purple heron, which can be easily found in swamps on river banks.
Can you feed birds all year round?
Remember that we should not feed birds all year round. If we want to do this, we should start feeding them “when snow cover prevents animals from feeding” – reminded the General Directorate for Environmental Protection. Also added that “during a snowless, frostless winter, birds should fend for themselves and use the food they find in their surroundings”a “year-round feeding may cause birds to lose their migratory instinct”.
What to feed birds?
You should also remember what is appropriate to feed the birds. It may be sunflower seeds, cereal grains, nuts, fruit, linseed seeds or bacon. In winter, you can also ensure that birds have access to unfrozen water. Importantly, if we decide to feed the birds, we should do it regularly.
