In Jawor, the dynamic expansion of the Mercedes factory is underway, which will soon become a key plant for the production of electric delivery vehicles based on the van.ea platform.
An investment worth over a billion euros is to not only increase the company’s production capacity, but also create up to 1,500 new jobs.
The expansion of the Mercedes factory in Jawor is gaining momentum
In the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone “Invest-Park”, the Mercedes-Benz plants are being expanded, which are to play an important role in the global strategy of the German concern. The investment worth over billion euros includes the creation of a modern light -driven light -driven van factory.
At the end of 2023, a contract was signed for the purchase of a plot, and in December a symbolic construction start ceremony took place. In May 2025, the first support was installed for the future paint shop – this is one of the key stages of work.
Jawor as the Mercedes electromobility center
The new plant is being built in the immediate vicinity of the existing Mercedes factories in Jawor, which has been producing electric engines and batteries since 2020. This will allow the optimal use of existing infrastructure. Ultimately, the factory is expected to specialize in the production of vanity of electric cars based on the innovative Van.ea (Van Electric Architecture) platform.
– The expansion and transformation of the factory in Jawor and its inclusion into the VAN production network is an important element of the global Mercedes-Benz Vans strategy. It aims to increase the company’s competitiveness. We are also talking about a huge step in the field of sustainable, modern and flexible production -said Sebastian Streuff, project manager Mercedes-Benz Vans in Jawor.
1,500 new jobs until 2027
As part of the investment planned for 2023–2027, the German company also intends to develop employees’ competences in the area of electromobility. Thanks to the support of the Polish government, Mercedes undertook to create 300 new full -time jobs by the end of 2027. In total, the factory in Jawor is to give employment to up to 1,500 people.
Under the agreement signed on September 9, 2024, the Minister of Development and Technology provided investment in the form of subsidies.
Mercedes strengthens the production network in the world
The new investment in Poland is part of a wider Mercedes-Benz Vans strategy, which aims to increase the company’s competitiveness and global range. Currently, the company has production plants in Germany, Spain, USA and Argentina, as well as in China (as part of the Joint Venture). In turn, Citan and Class T models are created in France as part of cooperation with Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi.
