Monastery of o. The Camaldolese Monastery in Bielany in Krakow can only be visited in accordance with the extremely strict rules of the order. Men are admitted all year round at selected hours. The situation is different with women.
Monastery of o. The Camaldolese Order in Bielany in Kraków is one of two active orders of this type in Poland. The name of the area of the city in which it is located comes from the characteristic white habits of the monks. The hermit congregation was brought to our country by the Grand Marshal of the Crown, Mikołaj Wolski, in 1603. The entire monastery complex has survived to this day almost unchanged.
The Camaldolese are an order of monastic hermits. They live in single hermitages, meet only during Holy Mass and prayers, and gather for common meals several times a year. They can only talk three times a week: on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. During prayers in the Camaldolese church, they do not use the organ or any other musical instruments. There is no radio or television in the monastery.

Holidays and visits to family are not allowed. The Camaldolese Congregation of Monte Corona currently has nine monasteries around the world, and almost half of the monks are Poles. The church and monastery can only be visited in accordance with the extremely strict rules of the Camaldolese Order. Men are admitted all year round, when the gate is open from 8.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. and from 3.00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. Women, however, are allowed to enter the monastery only 12 days a year. The first date is February 7.
The next ones are: the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord (on the day when this celebration falls in a given year, approximately March 25), Easter Sunday, Pentecost Sunday (Pentecost), Monday after Pentecost Sunday, Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), June 19, Sunday after June 19, August 15 (Female Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary), 8 September (celebration of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary), December 8 (feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary) and December 25 (Christmas).
