Participation in PPK is voluntary (you can resign at any time and sign up at any time). The employer is obliged to finance basic contributions to PPK in the amount of 1.5%. or 2.5 percent employee’s remuneration (applies to employment contracts and mandate contracts). The employee allocates 2% to PPK every month. your salary. In addition, the state provides a one-time welcome payment and annual subsidies.

The interest in PPK among Poles is growing from month to month. Data available on the Mojeppk.pl website show that the total value of net assets in PPK amounted to PLN 47.21 billion in January, compared to PLN 45.06 billion in December. Thus, in the first month of 2026 there was an increase of over PLN 2 billion, which happened for the first time in the history of PPK.

The number of active PPK accounts increased to 5.17 million in January, compared to 5.09 million a month earlier. 4.18 million people take advantage of the savings opportunities in the program (one person may have more than one PPK account, if, for example, he or she changed jobs). That’s over 60,000. more than in December. A higher increase in participants was last recorded during auto-enrolment in March 2023.

Participation in January reached 57.92%. The program enjoys the greatest interest in the largest companies employing over 1,000 people – it is 85.77%. The lowest participation is recorded in organizations where 10 to 49 people work. Only every third employee (32.27%) saves there. In turn, in enterprises created by less than 10 people, participation was 71.76%.

Geographically, the Masovian Voivodeship dominates, where participation exceeded 80%. The next places are taken by the Lower Silesian and Greater Poland voivodeships (63.8% and 61.6%, respectively). The worst result in this respect is the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship – participation there is less than 32%.
