Before we go on holiday abroad, it is worth making sure that our luggage does not contain any items that may be banned or subject to restrictions in the destination country. This includes e-cigarettes, which are being “blacklisted” in an increasing number of countries. We cannot bring them, for example, to Thailand or the Maldives. If we break the rules, in some cases there will be much more serious consequences than just confiscation of equipment.

List of countries with a ban on e-cigarettes

Travelers going to Thailand cannot bring in e-cigarettes or the liquids used in these devices. However, this is not the only country that has tightened regulations regarding these items in recent years. However, confiscating equipment at the airport is the least of your problems. Much more serious consequences await those who manage to transport e-cigarettes across the border and are then caught using them there. Some of the strictest laws apply in Australia, where illegal use of e-cigarettes can result in a prison sentence of up to two years or a fine of up to $32,000. In Thailand, anyone who violates applicable regulations may be arrested and sentenced to prison or a fine multiple of the value of the illegal product.
