While one of them remains open all year, the other will open soon and will take tourists only until the end of October. The real challenge is its supply, because no way or lift leads here. Tourists can receive tea with raspberry juice for helping small loads.
Shelters in the Tatra Mountains for the brave
The highest hostel in the Tatra Mountains, Chata Pod Rysmi, is on the Slovak side in the upper part of the Żabia Mięguszowiecka valley at an altitude of 2241 meters NPM, the location in such a place is a real organizational challenge, especially when the buffet and accommodation maintained. This place is open all year round
You will have to wait a moment to use the hut under Rysmi. Officially, the season in the highest hostel will start on June 1 and will last until October 31, 2025. Wanderers can already use another object located in Slovakia on the border of the Little Cold Water Valley and the Valley of Five Ponds. This is Téry’s hostel, located at the height of 2015 m above sea level, considered the most beautiful in the entire Tatras. It has 24 beds, while Chara under Rysi currently has 30 free beds. Here, tourists can also eat a warm meal before setting off on the further part of the route.
