These are the gems of Polish tourism. They won a prestigious award
Each Polish region has its own legend, and thanks to countless tourist attractions it allows you to travel for a shorter or longer time – in time, in emotions, in experience.
Since 2003, the Polish Tourist Organization has been organizing the Competition for the Best Tourist Product – POT Certificate, selecting the most unique tourist attractions that not only attract guests, but also raise the standards of the entire industry. By combining quality with an idea, history with modernity, they can give visitors more than they were originally looking for.
Among all the distinctions, the most important is one – POT Gold Certificate. This is a “tourist Oscar”, a laurel for products that have already gained recognition, passed selection and were indicated by regional tourist organizations as the “best of the best” proposals.
This list is a map of absolutely unique Polish places. Below is the full journey from 2008 to 2025. If someone is looking for inspiration for traveling around Poland, it’s hard to find a better guide.
2008 – Technical Monuments Trail of the Silesian Voivodeship
It is a fascinating, industrial world spread over 40 objects. Mines, open-air museums, steelworks, power plants, historic railway stations, workers’ housing estates – each place tells a different story. The trail can capture the imagination of even those who have never been interested in industry. Because here you can see not only the buildings, but also how entire generations lived.
2009 – Augustów Canal – Papal Trail
The journey by water, which John Paul II traveled in 1999, is not only about tourism – it is an experience immersed in nature. Sailing along the lakes, Czarna Hańcza and the Augustów Canal, you have the impression of entering a world where nothing has to rush you. This is one of those directions that first calms you down, and then resonates in your head for a long time. All tourists who want to rest in the bosom of nature and need a moment of reflection can participate in cruises and rafting trips. The organizers’ offer is very wide – they accept both organized groups and individual tourists.
2010 – Manufaktura Łódzka
Łódź has always been associated with factories, but Manufaktura shows that old walls can get a second life. This is a project that not only changed the image of the city, but also became its symbol. The renovated post-industrial buildings, in accordance with the idea of revitalization, were given new functions – cultural, entertainment, service and commercial. The Manufaktura project assumed a union of the past with the future and combined a new quality – history with the present.
2011 – Przystanek Woodstock / Pol’and’Rock Festival
There is probably no other event like this in Poland. Dozens of concerts, thousands of people, a tent city teeming with goodness and energy, and an atmosphere of freedom that is difficult to experience elsewhere. The festival is proof that joy, music and solidarity can create a truly safe space, despite its enormous scale.
2012 – Trail of the Eagles’ Nests
It’s 164 kilometers of adventure: castles built on rocks, caves hidden among limestone inselbergs, views that stay in the camera and memory. The trail gives you freedom – you can explore it on foot, ride a bike, climb or explore caves. The Jurassic landscape is the hero here, and man is only a guest.
2013 – Wooden Architecture Trail
Over 250 objects, many of which look like straight out of a fairy tale. Wooden temples, Orthodox churches, manors, folk architecture – each element has its own rhythm and history. The four churches on the UNESCO list are very impressive, but the entire route is one large open-air museum.
2014 – Science and Entertainment Park Krasiejów
Krasiejów is a gigantic lesson in prehistory. Dinosaur models, “Time Tunnel”, 3D Oceanarium, paleontological excavations and a team that can explain science in such a way that children want to become archaeologists and adults remember their school dreams. A place that teaches history in passing.
2015 – Gold Mine and Medieval Technology Park
Złoty Stok combines the magic of the underground with historical reconstructions. A mining village with working devices is a real journey in time – without special effects, only thanks to the handicraft and passion of the creators. This is an unusual, intimate, but extremely engaging attraction.
2016 – INDUSTRIADA
A festival that once a year turns Silesia into the largest industrial scene in Europe. Sightseeing, concerts, workshops, animations – all immersed in the scenography of the old industry. Over 6.5 million participants have already had the opportunity to discover this world. This is not just an event – it is a celebration of the region’s identity.
2017 – Living Gingerbread Museum
You can’t leave here without smiling. Guests not only listen to the history of gingerbread – they co-create it. They knead the dough, fill the molds, bake and take the baked goods with them. It is a theater of smell, sound and taste.
2018 – Warsaw Uprising Museum
A visit to this museum is an emotional journey. Multimedia introduces you to the world of uprising Warsaw, but the most important are the memorabilia and stories of those who fought and died. This museum teaches differently – through experience, not just facts.
2019 – Historic Silver Mine
A unique labyrinth of corridors, the first steam engine in Silesia and a rafting trip down an underground river that is truly impressive. The mine is included on the UNESCO List and for good reason: it is a place where the past breathes in every nook and cranny.
2021 – Hydropolis
Water as a hero. The Wrocław science center is a combination of design, technology and ecological education. An underground reservoir turned into a futuristic space acts as a magnet for children and adults. Exhibitions, workshops and pro-climate projects make this place memorable.
2022 – Guido Mine and Queen Luiza Adit
The complex known as the “Black Pearl of Europe” has over 10 km of underground routes in authentic excavations. Sightseeing here is not only an education, but also an emotion – the underground scenery does its job.
2023 – Bieszczady Bicycle Drezyny
The largest handcar rental company in Europe. Driving on the railway line from 1872, through the Bieszczady forests and valleys, allows you to see the region from a perspective that neither a car nor a walking route can offer. Quiet, ecological and adrenaline-filled.
2024 – Bałtów Tourist Complex
JuraPark, Zwierzyniec, 5D cinema, VR, miniature Poland – this is a place full of different worlds. In addition, 1,000 km of bicycle routes, rafting, climbing, winter ski station – the list is truly impressive. And new attractions appear every season. Bałtów is a tourist ecosystem that is constantly developing and can fill an entire weekend (or week).
2025 – Srebrna Góra Fortress
The largest mountain fortress in Europe, located at an altitude of over 650 m above sea level. Restoration has made the facility come alive – there are exhibitions, accommodation, a restaurant, workshops, and uniformed guides create an atmosphere that cannot be bought or directed. This is a place that is impressive in its sheer scale.
Each POT Gold Certificate is proof that tourism in Poland has not only potential, but also character.
These are attractions that show that traveling can be an adventure, a lesson, a breath of fresh air, a return to the past or a leap into the future. And that we have truly unique places in the country – we just need to give them a chance.
