There will be a reduction in fuel prices. The Sejm decided

The Sejm almost unanimously adopted the government’s proposals regarding fuel prices. This concerns a project amending the Act on stocks of crude oil, petroleum products and natural gas and the rules of conduct in situations of threat to the state’s fuel security and disruptions on the oil market, as well as changes to the Excise Duty Act.

This is a package proposed by the government called “CPN” – “Fuel Prices Lower”.

The government has adopted two projects aimed at reducing fuel prices

Let us recall that on Thursday, at a special meeting, the government adopted both projects, which were then quickly submitted to the Sejm for debate. Their first reading took place late in the evening, and around 11 p.m. the Sejm Finance Committee voted in favor of these proposals.

– We decided to take action, fully aware that to a decisive extent the situation on the fuel market in the world and in Poland will depend on what is happening in this war, in the Middle East. Today, at an extraordinary meeting, we will make a whole package of decisions so that, in a situation that we have no control over there, in Iran and the Middle East, we can have the maximum influence on what is within our reach here in Poland, so that fuel prices are the lowest possible in the situation of a dramatic increase in fuel prices in the world, said Prime Minister Donald Tusk during the Thursday press conference.

The Sejm says “yes”

On Friday, during the 54th session of the Sejm, voting on draft bills took place. 428 MPs voted for the adoption of the laws, 12 were against and no one abstained.

The government bills approved by the Sejm will be considered by the Senate around 2 p.m.

The new regulations will allow for the introduction of a reduction in the VAT rate on fuels from 23%. at 8 percent, as well as a reduction in excise duty by PLN 0.28 on diesel oil and PLN 0.29 on gasoline.
