There will be a change of ownership. This network of stations has grown threefold
The Polish Enterprise Fund VIII, managed by Enterprise Investors, will sell 100 percent. shares of Anwim, which owns the chain of gas stations under the Moya brand. How will the driver feel about the change?
Is something bad happening at Anwim that the investor is withdrawing from the fuel business? NO. On the contrary – the Moya gas station network has grown threefold in recent years (from 180 to over 540 own and franchise stations), so the investor wants to finally realize his profit. He has the right to do so.
The Anwim management board has already acquired new, specialized investors: Stonepeak and Energy Equation Partners, who will provide the station network with access to a powerful financial base and knowledge from the energy industry, which is to help the Moya brand in the fight for the position of second-placed fuel market leader in Poland. Third place on the box is no longer enough.
Anwim did not fall asleep pears in the ashes. Success achieved wisely
In just eight years, the number of Moya stations increased so much that the network became the third largest chain of gas stations in Poland. However, Anwi is not only the owner of the station. The company is also present in the import and export of fuels and conducts wholesale sales.
The new owners already have experience in the European market, including: from investment in the JET network (Germany and Austria). Their knowledge will be used to accelerate investments in electromobility, fleet services and the energy transformation of the Moya station, which still has little fresh experience in this matter.
In 2022, Anwim acquired The Fuel Company, a Dutch supplier of fleet cards accepted for over 8,000. stations in 18 European countries. Thanks to this transaction, Moya customers gained the ability to refuel throughout Europe, and a separate fleet card business was established within the group. Anwim also launched the Caffe MOYA chain and expanded its store offer. Recently, the company has also invested in electromobility and plans to operate approximately 180 electric vehicle chargers by the end of 2026.
However, before the acquisition is finalized, it will be necessary to obtain the regulatory approvals required in Poland.
Drivers on Moya in a new reality. What’s new around the corner?
MOL was also seriously interested in taking over shares in Anwim. The Hungarian company, after taking over part of Lotos’ assets, clearly wants more gas stations in Poland. The Hungarians held talks with the management board of Enterprise Investors, but without success.
However, the history of running the fuel business in Poland is not a strong point of the MOL concern. After the takeover of 417 gas stations in Poland, i.e. after the merger of Lotos with Orlen in 2022, MOL’s operating losses in 2024 reached as much as PLN 51.3 million. In 2025, the subsidiary MOL Polska recorded an operating loss of PLN 81.5 million. Looking at the total number of MOL stations in Poland, according to the ISBnews ranking, it decreased from 471 at the end of 2024 to 459 at the end of 2025.
Drivers do not have to worry about unfavorable changes. The new owner will appear in Moya at the earliest at the end of 2026.
