There is a government proposal regarding the minimum wage in 2027. Will it exceed PLN 5,000?

Although the year has not yet passed, negotiations have already started to determine the minimum wage in 2027. The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy presented its proposal regarding the national minimum wage. The letter obtained by “Fakt” shows that the ministry wants the minimum wage next year to be no lower than PLN 4,927 gross. Let us remind you that the current minimum wage is PLN 4,806 gross. We would therefore have an increase of over PLN 120.

Minimum wage in 2027. Converging proposals

Employers are in favor of a small increase in the minimum wage. They propose an increase to PLN 4,860.70 gross, i.e. by almost PLN 55. This amount is indicated by Łukasz Kozłowski, an expert of the Federation of Polish Entrepreneurs. Trade unionists approach this issue differently and want the minimum national wage to be at least PLN 4,900 gross.

Negotiations on the minimum wage are conducted within the Social Dialogue Council. If trade unionists fail to reach an agreement with employers, the government will make a decision on this matter. He has until September 15 to do so.

We do not have to wait until September for information on whether the minimum wage will increase twice in 2027. As “Fakt” reminds, this happens when inflation exceeds 5 percent during the year. (in recent years, this occurred in 2023 and 2024). The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy does not expect such a level next year.

– Due to the fact that the average annual price index of consumer goods and services in general forecast for 2027 is 102.5%. (i.e. less than 105%), there will be one date for changing the minimum wage and the minimum hourly rate in 2027 – from January 1, 2027 – forecasts by the Ministry of Labor.
