The worst train in Poland. He almost never arrives on time
This train arrived at the station on time only 21.08 percent of the time. cases. PKP indicates the reasons for the poor result.
The IC “Uznam” train is one of the longest connections of PKP Intercity, but its punctuality remains low. In the first half of 2026, just over 21% arrived on time. warehouses. The carrier explained the reasons for the delays and announced a change to the schedule. As Kolejowy Portal writes, the unsatisfactory result also caught the attention of the Ministry of Infrastructure, which obliged PKP Intercity to take actions to improve the regularity of the connection.
The “Uznam” train is still delayed
Passengers traveling by train on the Chełm – Świnoujście route must be extremely patient. According to PKP Intercity data, the IC “Uznam” train is experiencing record delays. It can even be said that arriving on time with this train is almost a miracle – no delays apply to only about 21 percent of connections.
Is the problem the impressive length of the route (970 kilometers) or maybe something else? As the carrier explains, there are several reasons and they appear at different stages of the journey. Some delays already occur in Chełm, where “Uznam” is connected to trains arriving from Ukraine. In the first half of the year, the train departed sixteen times late because of waiting for passengers. According to the Railway Portal, punctuality is also affected by rolling stock defects, unplanned replacements of wagons and locomotives, waiting for other trains and speed restrictions related to renovations and track closures.
The schedule will change from September
The carrier drew attention to the difference between the schedule assumptions and the actual capabilities of the train. The current timetable has been prepared for a train with a speed of up to 160 km/h, while the rolling stock used can travel at a maximum of 150 km/h. From September, travel times are to be adjusted to these parameters – so there will be fewer delays.
