The wife suddenly interrupted Sikorski’s transmission. “Radek, because we won at volleyball”
In the semi-finals of the Olympic Games, the volleyball team faced the United States and won. This means that for the first time in 48 years, they will compete for gold. “Yeeeess! We’ve been waiting for this for almost half a century” – this is how Prime Minister Donald Tusk rejoiced over the victory of the Poles. Sikorski was equally excited, having been informed of the team’s success by his wife. At the time, he was hosting a live broadcast on YouTube.
Polish volleyball players have reached the Olympic final. “Yeeeeeeeeest! We’re playing for gold,” shared the joy with Internet users, former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. Many Polish politicians, as well as the US embassy in Warsaw, reacted to the news of the victory.
Minister of National Defense: What a match!
The volleyball clash with the US national team was also watched live by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense – Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. “What a match! Bravo, gentlemen. For the gold!” – he wrote.
MEP Patryk Jaki – a politician from Sovereign Poland – is also proud of the victory. “Polish volleyball players in the Olympic final! Bravo!” – we read. It did not escape Janusz Kowalski either. The MP from Law and Justice congratulated the athletes.
Civic Platform MP Marcin Bosacki pointed out that the match was really difficult. “What a horror it was. You are great!” he addressed the athletes. MEP Andrzej Halicki, vice-chair of the EPP (European People’s Party), assessed that it was “a great day”. “Bravo, volleyball players, there will be a medal, big congratulations,” he wrote.
“Radek, can I interrupt you?”
Almost an hour after the match, a post from the American embassy in Warsaw appeared on X. “It hurt a little, but hats off to Poland! What a match! Rematch in Los Angeles in 2028,” we read.
However, the cherry on the cake is a short video published on the Sikorski profile – the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The head of the MFA was currently hosting a live broadcast on YT. He was answering questions from Internet users. – Radek, can I interrupt you? Because we won at volleyball! – Anne Applebaum, who suddenly entered his room, asked her husband.
– Wow! We won in volleyball! – replied the surprised and happy Sikorski. – We are in the final – added the minister’s wife. – Bravo, bravo, our guys! – said the smiling head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with his thumbs up.
