The whole of Poland was talking about this injury. A well-known representative with great dedication

Paweł Zatorski

Paweł Zatorski is one of the most recognizable figures in Polish volleyball in recent years. An experienced player is just returning to the professional arena.

Paris. Semi-final of the Olympic volleyball tournament. Poland plays against the USA. Although the Poles ultimately win 3-2, the dramatic spectacle will remain in the fans’ memory for many years. Grounds? Firstly, a great victory for coach Nikola Grbic’s team, against all odds. One of them was injuries. Paweł Zatorski, the basic and only (!) libero in the team, suffered an injury.

Paweł Zatorski with a moving entry. Important months for a volleyball player

Although less than 1.5 years have passed since those emotions, a lot has changed in the context of the Polish volleyball team itself, but also the participants of that tournament, which was ultimately silver for the Poles. The above-mentioned Zatorski is an example of dedication and fighting to return to the pitch, even though it seemed that it might be very difficult.

However, the volleyball player ultimately remained in the Asseco Resovia Rzeszów team. Former Polish representative, national team multi-medalist (including European champion 2023; two-time world champion 2014 and 2018; winner of the 2012 World League and 2023 Nations League) and club winner (including five-time Polish champion 2011, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019 and the 2011 Polish Cup, 2012, 2017, 2019, 2021; Champions League winner 2021) shared an important post summarizing the past 12 months. An entry in which the sense of gratitude definitely plays the most important role.

“GRATITUDE for the fact that I finally associate summer not only with beautiful medals, the other side of which were children crying before each trip and a wife who was barely able to cope; GRATITUDE for having had the chance to discover life again. Other than just volleyball, which I have lived continuously for the last 20 years; GRATITUDE for the fact that for the first time in my adult life I had the opportunity to pursue my passions, which I have always dreamed of. I dreamed, but there was never time (…) Regardless of what role I will be given, I will give my all this season so that the wonderful fans of Resovia Rzeszów finally get what they have deserved for many years. And then… I hope that for a long time I will be able to experience with you these wonderful emotions that VOLLEYBALL gives us,” wrote the titled volleyball player on Instagram.

According to the latest news (published on TVP Sport), Zatorski is to play the role of a defensive receiver in Asseco Resovia in the upcoming 2025/26 season. “Zator” will therefore be in the team’s squad for the fourth center. The number one libero will be Erik Shoji, number 2 will be Michał Potera.
