“The whole of Poland is buzzing with this topic.” This is what Iga Świątek’s new coach is supposed to be like
Iga Świątek chooses a new coach. Paweł Strauss suggests what qualities an ideal trainer for a Polish athlete must have.
After Iga Świątek broke up with coach Wim Fissette, there was speculation about her new coach. Paweł Strauss, who specializes in tennis, outlined the profile of a suitable candidate in an interview with Interia. – So the whole of Poland is buzzing about this topic, as I thought – he started the conversation with the portal.
Iga Świątek is looking for a coach. Strauss comments
The expert admitted that he was not surprised by Iga Świątek’s decision. He drew attention to the winning teams and their joy. – Unfortunately, this is not visible in the Świątek group. Everyone is tense, mysterious, clenched teeth… How long can you stand it? – he asked. – If there is no joy in a given environment and tensions dominate, it does not work in the long run – he emphasized.
– In the case of Iga, I am not certain, but it is possible that certain boundaries have become blurred, and only allowing someone with a fresh perspective would make it possible to point it out and highlight it. However, it all starts with the fact that such a person would have to be let in. Because if someone thinks that Iga is their property and they cannot open up to something new, we have a difficult situation. Then the next coach will also fly, Strauss predicted.
New coach Świątek. Ideal candidate characteristics
When asked about his candidate for the Polish star’s coach, he admitted that it was a difficult task. – It’s because I don’t know what’s going on in Iga’s team and in her private life. People say different things about her situation, but officially I don’t know anything, he emphasized. – It’s none of my business, but it’s possible that some stories simply influence her – he said.
– I would like to see someone who is a little older. He walked a certain path, learned valuable lessons and raised many players. Such a person can help Iga. That is, someone who feels like an authority, because such a person has strength and no one can take advantage of him. If you have some great players with whom you have worked from scratch for several years, you go in and arrange the team’s work according to your best experiences, Strauss suggested.
