Spain is one of the favorite directions of Poles to relax, and in 2024 it was one of the countries we flew most often. For years, however, it has been struggling with the frustration of local residents, who are fed up with crowds, destruction of nature and the decreasing availability of apartments by short -term rental.

Protests on April 5 in Spain. Where will they take place?

On Saturday, April 5 in Spain, the first big protest against the country’s housing policy will take place this year. Although the action is not directly aimed at tourists from abroad, problems with apartments are associated with their growing presence in both the continental part and in the islands. “Mass tourism has accelerated the construction of entire housing blocks for tourists in large cities, and even in some smaller municipalities,” noted the Association of Asturia tenants.

Last year, the inhabitants of Barcelona vent their frustration, pouring water in restaurant gardens. Therefore, on Saturday it is better to avoid places where manifestations will take place or simply keep calm and not provoke anyone with noisy or unkitable behavior.

As many as 40 cities are to protest.
