Scandal at Suntago. Tourists do not hide their outrage

Gintaras and his wife decided to go on a weekend trip to Poland. They were accompanied by their 19-year-old son. The family decided to spend some time in Suntago.

As they told “Gazeta Wyborcza”, they experienced an unpleasant surprise during their visit. Lithuanians rented a special bungalow. When they returned a few hours later, it turned out that a theft had occurred.

– Safety and responsibility are virtually non-existent here. Our cottage was broken into using a swipe card while we were away. Before leaving, we closed the curtains, and when we returned, we found all the windows open and noticed that the bag was missing, said a resident of Kaunas. – – There were no signs of forced entry – he added.

The man reported that the total value of the stolen items is nearly EUR 500. – The whole weekend we had planned was ruined. We came from Lithuania to rest, and we came back robbed, disappointed and without our things, admitted Gintaras.

Tourists from Lithuania also did not hide their outrage at the attitude of Suntago employees. – They just threw up their hands, explaining that the card issue could be solved by an IT employee who was not on site. We waited for over two hours at the reception and no one even offered us water. There was no apology, it was clearly visible that they were completely indifferent to the situation, he complained.

Only a day later, the head of Suntago became interested in the fate of the robbed Lithuanians. He allegedly promised tourists that on their next visit they would be able to use Suntago in the all-inclusive formula. A few weeks later it turned out that this was not possible.

In response to the allegations, the president explained that he only promised tourists free accommodation. Suntago’s press office also denies it because “it’s just not an option.”

“The director of the facility personally apologized to those affected for the situation and, as part of the existing offer, proposed compensation in the form of two free nights for two people to be used at any time,” the press office explained.

The case was also reported to the police. – The proceedings are ongoing, a notification has been received, monitoring has been secured and an inspection has been carried out, and the injured party, as a party to the proceedings, will be informed about the manner of ending the proceedings in an appropriate letter in accordance with the Code of Criminal Procedure – said Monika Michalczyk from the police station in Żyrardów.
