The truth about Iga Świątek. “Such a situation will not happen anymore”

Iga Świątek will not remember the opening of 2025 well. The Polish woman on the plus side can mainly save her first start, i.e. the Grand Slam Australian Open. The vice-leader of the WTA ranking reached the semi-finals, losing one or two balls with a later winner, American Madison Keys.

In the following weeks, the Polish tennis player reported in the quarter -finals and semi -finals of the WTA 1000 rank. These are certainly solid results, but looking at previous years, Świątek was able not only to reach the top, but above all – win tournaments on hard surface. This time it was different.

A tennis player who was only 19 years old, she presented herself in the struggle in Miami Open. Ultimately, she did not win the tournament, falling off in the semi -final, but managed to deal with, among others Precisely from Świątek (quarter -finals), and earlier with the mentioned Keys. Marcin Matkowski, a doubles final of the US Open (2011) or the Australian Open semi -finalist (2006), slightly tones the mood in relation to the requirements of Christmas. In his opinion, you need to look a little more widely at what the Polish woman achieved, and how her position in the Tour looks like now. However, it changed a bit.

– Let’s get to the ground. There will be no such situation as two years ago, when Iga won 37 matches in a row. It was an absolutely cosmic form. Only that since then she “grew” her most serious rival, Sabalenek, who significantly improved her game. Several more young players arrived, such as Mirro Andriejew. In addition, a few rivals from the top have already won with Iga and going against her to the court, they no longer feel such pressure. That is why Polish is harder now (…) But I think that in the coming weeks we will enjoy Iga’s successes – he said in an interview for TVP Sport experienced, a great tennis player, especially in doubles.
