The truth about Bartosz Kurek’s health. “He was practically immobilized.”

The club from Kędzierzyn-Koźle contracted Bartosz Kurek, thanks to which, after a few years of break, PlusLiga can once again admire one of the legends of the discipline. In recent weeks, however, “Kuraś” appeared in ZAKSA’s colors mainly behind advertising banners by the pitch. Reason? An injury he suffered in the first round of the season.

One could have hoped for the Wednesday match (i.e. October 23) in the PlusLiga hit, in which Bogdanka LUK Lublin played ZAKSA. The Kędzierzyn team took their captain on a long trip, but Kurek did not have the opportunity to appear on the pitch. It’s still too early. And when will be the right time?

ZAKSA coach Andrea Giani revealed a bit of the background. The Italian clarified the current situation with Kurek’s health. Hitting the ball during the match against PGE Projekt Warszawa seemed harmless. And as the following weeks showed, on the contrary, hitting the eye area with a ball bounced off the pitch could have disastrous consequences.

– Bartek finally started training and got permission from a specialist doctor. However, it must be remembered that he was practically immobilized for almost six weeks. We need to give him some time to work physically and start jumping. When will we see him on the pitch? Not earlier than in two weeks, and who knows, maybe later in another two weeks. Mathematically, it is said that your body will recover as long as you take a break. The most important thing is that Bartek feels good – admitted the ZAKSA coach in an interview for “Przegląd Sportowy” and Onet.

There is nothing left to do but keep our fingers crossed for Kurek’s health and a peaceful return to the team. ZAKSA is still unlucky in terms of health. The previous season was a disaster in this context, currently we are talking mainly about Kurek, but he is still the captain and the man who was supposed to be the leader on the pitch in the team from Kędzierzyn-Koźle.

Bogdanka LUK Lublin is the new leader of PlusLiga

The mentioned hit, the match between Bogdanka LUK Lublin and ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, ended with a very certain victory for the hosts, 3-0. Marcin Komenda, the setter and captain of the Lublin team, was chosen MVP of the match. Lublin’s team became the leader of PlusLiga, having won a total of eight wins in eight rounds of the season.

Now we can rub our hands at what will happen on Saturday (i.e. October 26). From 2:45 p.m. in Warsaw, the runner-up, PGE Projekt, will face Bogdanka LUK. The match at the top of PlusLiga will be available to watch on Polsat Sport 1 and online via the Polsat Box Go platform.
