Before the referee ended the meeting, the wave of euphoria kidnapped tens of thousands of people to the streets of Paris. Crowds went out to the Champs Elysees, Place de la Bastille, as well as near the Parc des Princes stadium. There were supposed to be fireworks, songs and a joyful celebration. Unfortunately, the atmosphere quickly began to change.

As reported by the daily Le Parisien, what began as a spontaneous feta, very quickly escaped from control.

“Loaded shops, broken windows, burglary, set on fire, damaged architectural elements … Paris woke up on Sunday morning with a hangover,” it was written in a dramatic summary of events.

The police were forced to intervene in many points of the city, and clashes with the most aggressive groups of supporters lasted until late at night.
