Not only nationwide train connections are at risk on Monday, February 16. Tricity is facing huge communication problems. Better be careful here.

It’s not an easy morning for residents and tourists visiting Gdańsk, Sopot or Gdynia. As you know, the third round of winter holidays is currently underway in Poland, so many people went on trips around Poland, including: to the sea. Currently, winter has hit so hard there that it has hampered the operation of trams and city trains. Here’s what to expect on February 16.

Traffic paralysis in Tricity

Journalists from rmf24.pl report on the difficult situation. It appears that the situation for travelers has significantly worsened after temperatures dropped to minus 17 degrees Celsius in Tricity. In popular seaside cities, you have to take into account delays and canceled courses.

Things are going to be particularly bad in Gdańsk. “On Monday morning, all trams in Gdańsk run with delays,” said RMF FM reporter Stanisław Pawłowski. The reason for this situation is mostly icy tracks and switches. Although city services are working to remove the effects of frost, the action may take a long time.

Winter makes traveling difficult

We will notice difficulties in traveling not only in the case of trams and in cities. In the Tricity area, train traffic was suspended on the section between Godętowo and Lębork due to a broken traction network. Tourists were forced to look for alternative connections from the morning.

Concerned passengers ask, among others: about whether trains will go to Lębork normally tomorrow and whether trains from Wejherowo to Gdynia are already running. Some people regret that there have been difficulties since yesterday evening and they are not sure how the replacement transport works.

The SKM Tricity Facebook page shows that new problems are constantly emerging. Recently, a message was published there: “SWITCH FAILURE AT GDYNIA GŁÓWNA STATION”. It seems that many people need to be patient.

Difficulties are expected in various parts of Poland, including: in PKP Intercity or Polregio carriages. In many cases, route delays exceed 100 minutes.
