The tenth world record for the pole vault champion! The Polish audience went wild

Armand Duplantis did it again! The Swedish pole vaulter broke the world record for the tenth time in his career, all while being cheered on by the Polish audience.

Armand Duplantis graced Sunday afternoon at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów. During the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial, which is part of the Diamond League meeting, he jumped 6.26 m. The Polish audience supported him strongly and he lived to see the world record in pole vaulting.

Duplantis with great joy

Duplantis confirmed that he is a great athlete. He started with a height of 5.92 m, and then jumped 6 m on his first attempt. At that time, he was already sure of winning the pole vault competition. However, he always aims for world records. The last one he set at the Olympic Games in Paris, when he jumped 6.25 m.

During the competition in Chorzów, he jumped 6.26 m in his second attempt. This result has a special meaning for him, because it was the tenth time in his career that he broke the world record. Duplantis ran to the stands in his own style to celebrate his great success. It must be admitted that the pole vault was of a high standard, because the other competitors on the podium – Sam Kendricks and Emanuil Karalis jumped 6 m.

Ingebrigtsen’s great result

It wasn’t just the Swedish pole vaulter who was happy about breaking the world record on Sunday. Jakob Ingebrigtsen was also in great euphoria. The Norwegian fulfilled the predictions of the media from his homeland and won the 3,000-meter race. He did it in great style, breaking the world record by three seconds, with a time of 7:17.55 seconds. The previous best result belonged to the Kenyan Daniel Komen, who achieved 7:20.67.

For Polish fans, one of the most important events of the day was Natalia Kaczmarek’s 400-meter run. The Polish representative was around fifth or sixth for a long time, but she performed brilliantly at the finish line. She caught up with several rivals and crossed the finish line in third place with a time of 49.95.
