Nearly 245 thousand people are to be eligible for military qualification in 2027. The calls are to go to, among others: to men of several age groups and some women.

Nearly a quarter of a million people are expected to become military eligible in 2027. According to the draft published on the government’s website, the official announcement of qualifications will take place on January 15. District medical boards are to start working at the beginning of February and operate until the end of May.

Mayors, mayors and presidents of cities will be responsible for serving summons. A letter containing the exact date and place of appearance should be delivered to the addressee at least seven days in advance.

Military qualification 2027. These age groups are to be summoned

The largest group is to be men born in 2008 who will reach the age of majority in the year of qualification. However, the list of people covered by the procedure will be much wider.

Men born in 2003–2007, who have not yet been assessed as fit for military service, are also to receive summonses. Persons deemed temporarily unfit for service during the qualifications held in 2025 and 2026 will also appear before the commission again.

Women are also to be summoned

The qualification is also intended to cover some women born in 2000–2008. These are people who will graduate in 2027 in fields considered to be of key importance for the armed forces.

The material mentions, among others: graduates of medical, psychological and selected technical fields. Volunteers who do not yet have a military category, are over 18 years of age and are under 60 years of age may also appear before the commission.

Four categories after the study

One of the most important elements of the qualification is the assessment of physical and mental health. On this basis, suitability for service is determined and one of four categories is awarded.

Category A means fitness for military service, B – temporary incapacity, D – incapacity for service in peacetime, and E – permanent and total incapacity both in peacetime and war.

What are the penalties for ignoring the summons?

Appearing for the qualification is mandatory. According to the material, a person who ignores the call may be fined and, in extreme cases, may be forcibly taken away by the relevant services.

If it is impossible to appear on the scheduled date due to an important fortuitous event, you should immediately notify the commune head, mayor or city president. In such a situation, another date is to be set.

Qualification is not the return of compulsory service

After completing the examination and entering the data into the register, the summoned person receives a certificate confirming his/her relationship with the service and the rank of private. After 14 days from the issuance of the ruling, she is to be transferred to the passive reserve, unless she applies for admission to active service.

The qualification itself does not mean the restoration of compulsory compulsory military service. As the source indicates, it has been suspended in Poland since 2008.
