The star leaves PlusLiga! This is a hit transfer from Poland to Italy
Luke Perry is one of the best libero specialists in PlusLiga in recent years. The Australian leaves Poland after the 2024/25 season.
The news about the volleyball player from the Antipodes came at the turn of 2024 and 2025 straight from the Apennine Peninsula. Luke Perry was a tasty treat on the transfer market. The Australian decided to change his surroundings, taking another important step in his career. This time, a classy libero will exchange Poland for Italy.
PlusLiga: Luke Perry leaves Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie
As reported by volleyball.it journalists, the Australian will represent Modena Volley in the 2025/26 season. Perry has been operating in Poland since 2018, with a small break for the French league. The Australian played in PlusLiga for: Asseco Resovia Rzeszów (2018-20), Trefl Gdańsk (2022-23) and currently, for Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie (from the 2023/24 season).
Perry has had a great first part of the regular season. We selected him for the first team of the best players of this stage of PlusLiga.
“If he leaves PlusLiga, it will be a big loss for the competition. At times you may get the impression that the ball is actually looking for the libero of coach Michał Winiarski’s team. Huge support in important moments, a man who can cover a lot of the field, but also doesn’t limit himself to reception, providing protection so that the only thing missing is an attack to complete the game. Although there is nothing to hide, if certain transfer rumors are actually confirmed, Zawiercie has an equally great successor for the next campaign. But we will probably come back to this on another occasion” – this is what we wrote about the Australian libero’s game in the December text about the halfway point of the PlusLiga regular phase.
Who will be the successor of the Australian in Zawiercie? Information regarding the transfer of Jakub Popiwczak has been circulating for a long time. The representative libero, like most of the volleyball players currently playing for Jastrzębski Węgiel, is to leave the team of the current Polish champion.
If this transfer actually takes place, coach Michał Winiarski will have a classy successor to the Australian. Who knows, maybe even a better libero if you combined all the advantages of both volleyball players.
