New investment “Społem” in Warsaw’s Wola

The cooperative plans to implement a small building at ul. Sołtyka in Warsaw. On its plots of 74/1 and 74/2, there are currently one-story warehouse and workshop buildings, which are intended for demolition. As the president of the cooperative explains, the decision to build apartments is part of the changing nature of the area:

– In recent years, developing the surrounding areas has changed a lot. Currently, multi -family residential buildings predominate in this part of the will. Next to our property, many such buildings were built. The direction of its development is part of the idea of changing the purpose of this region from industrial and warehouse to housing-explains Anna Tylkowska, president of the board of “Społem” WSS Śródmieście.

The planned building is to have three or four floors. Currently, the concept is in the preparation phase and will be presented as part of the application submitted on the basis of the Lex Developer.

“Społem” will support one of the schools in Warsaw

The project involves the construction of apartments with service premises on the ground floor, underground garage and land development. Importantly, the local spatial development plan has been providing for cultural services here since 2011, but it has not been implemented for years.

As part of the Cooperative agreement, through the company “Together for Sołtyka”, it will finance the construction of an elevator at Primary School No. 63 Zawisza Czarny at ul. Płocka 30 and reconstruction of the driveway for the disabled.

The investment will cost about 850 thousand. PLN, and additional work will be thoroughly specified in a separate agreement. To secure the implementation of these obligations, a contractual penalty was established in the amount of PLN 1 million.

– It is to enable Warsaw in the case of the so -called black script, obtaining financial resources necessary to implement or complete the negotiated educational investment – explains Renata Kaznowska, deputy president of Warsaw.

“Społem” – a cult cooperative

“Społem” is one of the most recognizable cooperative brands in Poland, whose roots date back to the 19th century. It was created as a cooperative movement, aimed at jointly supplying the population with food and industrial products. In the times of the Polish People’s Republic, “Społem” stores were a symbol of everyday shopping and constituted the basis of retail trade in Poland.

Warsaw “Społem” and Hala Mirowska

Currently, “Społem” is a network of independent food cooperatives that operate in various Polish cities. In Warsaw, the largest and most famous unit is the “Społem” of WSS Śródmieście, managing, among others Hala Mirowska and many housing stores. Despite the growing competition from the discount network, the cooperative tries to combine tradition with a modern approach to trade, focusing on the quality of products and cooperation with local suppliers.
