The Spaniard settled in Poland. This behavior of the Poles surprised him

Hiszpan zdradził, co zaskoczyło go w Warszawie

The Spaniard, who has been living in Warsaw for almost 10 years, does not hide his surprise at what happened to him in the Polish capital. He showed an unusual recording online.

Carlos comes from the Spanish city of Leon, located in the northern part of the country, in the province of Castile and Leon. Nearly 10 years ago, the Spaniard decided to move to Poland and live in Warsaw.

Currently driving popular “Yo en Polonia” (“Me in Poland” – ed.) profiles on Instagram and TikTok. He publishes recordings in which he talks about the differences between everyday life in Spain and Poland, and what still surprises him about our country despite the passage of years.

A Spaniard about life in Warsaw. “I felt like an action hero!”

In one of the last recordings posted online Carlos did not hide his surprise at what traveling by public transport in Warsaw is like. – You’re getting on the bus. All doors open. You can enter through any entrance. Nobody is watching you. Nobody forces you to buy a ticket. There are no controllers – he enumerates.

This is a big surprise for a Spaniard, because in the vast majority of Spanish cities you can only board the bus through the front door and tickets are purchased directly from the drivers (or you show another document that entitles you to travel).

Further on The Spaniard admitted that he did not always have a valid ticket with him. – Because there is no control, I sometimes think that if I’m only going for two stops, why spend money on tickets? I felt like an illegal hero in an action movie then, he said.

The Spaniard in Warsaw can’t believe his eyes

Carlos admitted, however, that such behavior could have a very unpleasant ending. – Imagine a big bus. Suddenly three tall men enter. Without warning, they block the validators and start checking tickets. They don’t have any discussion. Instead of 1 euro for a ticket, you can pay a fine of over 40 euros, said the Spaniard.

At the end of the recording, the Spaniard admitted that free-riding is simply unwise. – Transport in Warsaw is very cheap. You can use various methods of purchasing tickets. Just buy it and drive wherever you want, he concluded.
