The ship with tourists got stuck in the Nile. Evacuation was ordered

Although sea travel may seem particularly safe tourists, the cruises do not always take place entirely without any interference. Last weekend, the “Movenpick Egypt” cruise ship with tourists on board settled agility on the route to Cairo. Service called to the place of service began to evacuate traveled in the boggy mussel. Among them were 39 Great Britain citizens and one United States citizen.

Tourists imprisoned on the river

Egyptian media announced a dangerous incident that took place in the waters of the Nile on Saturday afternoon. According to the Polish-language Hurghada24.pl website, the unit of the “Movenpick Egypt” cruise ship influenced the shallow near the Great Temple of Aton in the city of Tell El-Amarna in Egypt. The passengers present on it went to Cairo, about 320 kilometers away. In total, there were 40 passengers on board – 39 British and one American (although some portals also provide information about several travelers more).

Evacuation action in the Nile

Everyone was evacuated after many hours of night service, in which two tugs and a dredger took part. Nobody was injured, and the ship could resume their cruise on the next day in the morning.

Accidents in the Nile are unfortunately not rare. A similar event on the longest African River took place only a few days earlier. According to Hurghada24.pl, last week, the “Crown Vision” ship with 57 tourists on board, from Germany and France, also settled. On the Internet you can find many films depicting the evacuation of other machines, which also influenced the uncertain wate of the Nile. Serious difficulties are also happening to the captains flowing through the Mediterranean sea with the Red Sea, the Suez channel. In March 2021 it was blocked by the ship Ever Given. The machine was only removed after a few days.
