The services do not give up on false alarms. More arrests
Five people have been detained in an investigation into a series of false alarms. The head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration says this is not the end and announces further actions of the services.
The head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, Marcin Kierwiński, announced on Saturday that investigators have already detained five people in connection with a series of false alarms that have involved emergency services and the police in recent weeks.
As the minister said on social media, the court has already imposed temporary arrest on three of the detained. However, this is not the end of the activities.
– Intensive police work continues. Further arrests and investigations are planned. Zero tolerance for criminals – Kierwiński wrote in a post on the X platform.
A series of false alarms, the services are put on their feet
The case concerns false reports of a threat to life, which triggered extensive actions by the services. One of the most publicized cases was the intervention in the apartment of the mother of President Karol Nawrocki in Gdańsk. On May 23, the fire brigade and other services entered the premises after receiving a report about a possible threat to life. It was necessary to break the locks on the doors. However, it turned out that the alarm was false.
Earlier, similar interventions also took place in the apartment of the president of TV Republika, Tomasz Sakiewicz, and on the Warsaw property of PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński. In both cases, the reports also turned out to be false. The former head of the National Security Bureau, Sławomir Cenckiewicz, and MP Sławomir Mentzen from Confederation also reported false reports and impersonation. The police are investigating whether all the reports are related and who is responsible for organizing them. We recently talked about the services’ actions in the case of false alarms with Dariusz Loranty, a security expert, head of the Central European Institute for Strategic Research and Analysis CIRSA and a former police negotiator.
