The record-breaking dream has come true! The Pole showed incredible character

Klaudia Kazimierska

Klaudia Kazimierska is the new Polish record holder in the 1500 meters run! The European vice-champion (2026) did great during the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial.

The event in Chorzów is actually a tradition – a beautiful one – when it comes to summer, August athletics competitions in Poland. Kamila Skolimowska’s memorial in 2026 took place just a few days after the end of the recent European Championships.

The event in Birmingham brought a total of eight medals for the Polish team. One of them, the last one taking into account the chronology of starts in the European Championship 2026, was won by Klaudia Kazimierska. The Pole, who trains and operates in the United States, was runner-up in the 1,500-meter run.

Klaudia Kazimierska broke the Polish record! Great performance at the Silesian Stadium

The silver medalist of the European Championship 2026 confirmed her high form in Chorzów. During the competition in memory of the late 2000 Olympic champion (Skolimowska won in Sydney, competing in the hammer throw), which was also one of the editions of the Diamond League – Kazimierska broke the Polish record!

The Pole finished fourth in a very competitive 1,500-meter race.

Kazimierska’s time? 3:55.59.

This is the eighth result by a European in history. She thus improved the national record, held by Weronika Lizakowska since August 2024. She ran 3:57.31 during the Olympic Games in Paris. As you can see, the time difference between the records is really big and this result on Kazimierska’s part is even more worth appreciating.

Interestingly, the 1500 m race in Chorzów was won by Ethiopian Tsige Duguma, achieving a great result of 3:55.06. This is the best time this year over this distance, achieved during the competition in Chorzów.

It is worth adding that Kazimierska led this race for a long time, dictating a really solid pace. Only on the last lap she was overtaken by several rivals, but still – with the last of her strength – the Pole managed to reach the finish line with her best result in her career at the top distance.

Kazimierska is still only 24 years old and it seems that the athlete has a really big career ahead of her.
