The price for a large Polish company is ridiculously low. Will there be an investor?
Ursus SA, one of the most famous Polish manufacturers of tractors and agricultural machinery, is trying to find a new owner for the third time. The trustee has lowered the asking price. Compared to the original amount, this is a reduction of over PLN 50 million.
Investor still sought. First, the company’s assets were offered for PLN 124.5 million. Unsuccessfully. The next offer was for PLN 99 million, but a buyer could not be found either. Third time lucky? The price is significantly lower, so it can be expected that this time it will be possible to find an investor with the required capital and the company will enter new, better tracks.
How much can you buy Ursus for?
The current price is PLN 74 million. The company’s assets include three factories, trademarks and equipment. The aforementioned factories are production plants in Dolne Miasto, Lublin and Biedaszki Małe. The deadline for submitting offers is October 22, 2024, at 3 p.m. Two days later, October 24, 2024 (11 a.m.), the deadline for opening offers was set. In order to be able to participate in the tender, you must pay a minimum of PLN 10 million, the so-called deposit.
A deposit is a specific amount of money or other form of security that is paid as a guarantee of participation in a tender, auction or bidding competition. Its purpose is to protect the organizer from dishonest participants or those who do not comply with the tender conditions.

Ursus is a company with a rich tradition of over 130 years. Founded in 1893 in Warsaw, it initially produced fittings for the sugar and distillery industries, and from 1920, already in the Second Polish Republic, it began producing tractors. The first Ursus tractor rolled off the production line in 1922, which was the beginning of the brand’s long history in the Polish automotive industry. Ursus earned the title of a cult brand that everyone associated with.
Ursus is currently looking for a new owner. A Warsaw court declared the company bankrupt in 2021. Despite financial problems, the brand remains an icon of Polish industry, and its tractors can still be found in Polish fields. Will it be possible to find an investor who will breathe new life into the legendary manufacturer?
