Poles are very keen on rafting down picturesque rivers. Unfortunately, the season for this entertainment is ending soon. This is the last opportunity to have some fun, for example on the Dunajec River.
The Pieniny National Park informed about the upcoming end of the Dunajec rafting season. It is already known that tourists will only be able to use the attractions until the end of October. There will be a ban in winter and autumn. All this for security reasons.
The end of rafting on the Dunajec River
Rafting on the Dunajec River is a popular activity, including: among lovers of mountains and water sports. We are talking about a river in southern Poland and the right tributary of the Vistula. Its initial section is considered to be Czarny Dunajec, which is very eagerly visited by tourists. On site you can count on atmospheric views and peace. The place looks completely different, depending on the season.
Tourists swam on the Dunajec River, among others. special rafting boats. They are available this year only for the last few weeks. Rafters from Pieniny towns steer the boat using the so-called sprays, i.e. spruce poles about 3 meters long. The attraction is popular, among others: in places such as: Sromowce Niżne, Sromowce Wyżne, Krościenko, Szczawnica and Czorsztyn. Pontoon or kayak trips organized by companies or organizers will also be unavailable.
Currently you can still use it. Dunajec rafting is available to tourists from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. every day of the week. The route usually takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes. Tourists will enjoy an 18-kilometer-long picturesque route through the river gorge. Afterwards, all you have to do is return from the final port by bus or rented bike. You return along the Pieniny Road.
Rafting on the Dunajec River. When will it be resumed?
Rafting on the Dunajec River usually takes place from April 1. It can already be predicted that in 2025, tourists will use the attractions again at this date. This form of entertainment can be planned for a traditional weekend, or even the May weekend or a longer June holiday.
The Dunajec is a mountain river, so you should be especially careful when swimming there. Before starting a rafting trip, you should take into account the water condition and your own skills. Swimming is not allowed on site, among other things. after October 31st. It is also prohibited to sail in motorized boats, reach the shore, swim or dive.
