The Polish woman’s success at the Australian Open! It was a great triumph in the final

Three matches and three wins. Maja Chwalińska won a place in the main tournament of the Australian Open. In the qualifying final, she defeated the Czech Brenda Fruhvirtová.
Polish fans could recently watch Maja Chwalińska in the United Cup, where the Polish national team reached the final. Ultimately, the US team came out on top. Chwalińska, however, appeared in the mix, playing in pair with Jan Zieliński.

The Pole (WTA 126) defeated in three-stage qualifications for the Australian Open 2025: the Czech Dominika Salkova, the Belgian Marie Benoit, and in the final, again the Czech representative, Brenda Fruhvirtová (WTA 197). In the latter case, Chwalińska won in two sets 6:3, 6:4. Thanks to this, the 23-year-old Pole will play in the main tournament of the Australian Open for the first time in her career.
So far, the greatest success of Iga Świątek’s friend – in the context of Grand Slam performances – was participation in the main part of Wimbledon in 2022. Then we ended up advancing to the second round of the tournament in London.
Australian Open 2025. When and where to watch the Grand Slam tournament?
The first Grand Slam event in 2025 is scheduled for January 12-26. Then the main tournament bracket will be played, not including the qualifications, which successfully passed: Maja Chwalińska and Kamil Majchrzak. However, Maks Kaśnikowski did not enter the main ladder.
A trio of women will definitely play in the main tournament of AO 2025: Iga Świątek, Magdalena Fręch and Magda Linette, and Hubert Hurkacz among the men.
AO 2025 matches will be played every day from 1:30 a.m., looking at Polish watches. Broadcasts will be carried out on Eurosport and via the MAX platform. The title from last year is defended by Aryna Sabalenka among the singles players and Jannik Sinner among the singles players. Interestingly, a year ago in the mixed doubles competition, Jan Zieliński, a Pole, won in a duet with Taiwanese tennis player Hsieh Su-wei.
