The Polish Roland Garros finalist revealed her secret. “I prayed”
Maja Chwalińska became a finalist of Roland Garros 2026. The great success also brought huge interest in the Polish figure from the world media.
Let us remind you that Maja Chwalińska will turn 25 this year – she is exactly the same age (i.e. 2001) as Iga Świątek. The finalist of Roland Garros 2026 is also a friend of the best Polish tennis player of recent years.
Born in Dąbrowa Górnicza, although currently associated mainly with Bielsko-Biała. Chwalińska enchanted with her tennis in the French capital, and experts, fans and journalists are delighted with the Polish figure.
Maja Chwalińska about her idols. Beautiful words about the so-called The Big Three
The Polish tennis player came to Paris as the tennis player number 114 in the WTA ranking. First, she made it through three-stage qualifications, and then she defeated six more opponents, qualifying for the most important match of Roland Garros 2026.
After winning the semi-final against Diana Sznajder, Chwalińska answered various questions during a press conference in Paris. She told, among others: about their tennis idols. The biggest one? Roger Federer.
“I was Roger’s number one fan. When I started playing tennis, it was all about Roger. And then Rafa, and then Novak. So now I’m like praying that Novak would just keep playing so that I could watch him. I’m really, really grateful that I grew up in this era. Sometimes I go back to those old matches and watch them play, and it seems like poetry, really. Today, it’s more about watching my friends, that’s how I would describe it. Sometimes, if there is good match, I can watch it. For example, I love watching Carlos, of course, or Jannik. But before, it was definitely about the Big Three,” Chwalińska admitted with a smile during the press conference.
