The Polish resort has a surprise for skiers. They waited for 10 years

After ten years of waiting, the Ministry of Climate and the Environment has agreed to increase the euro ski -ski unine in Karpacz. This skiing route for intermediate is the only facility in the area where athletes could train. However, he was not sufficient to obtain FIS approval, which would allow the organization of the national championships and international competitions. Unfortunately, after renovation, the route will also be too short.

Karpacz with a new ski route

The most popular Lower Silesian Winter Resort will soon be able to boast of an extensive ski. Karpacz authorities finally obtained permission to expand the euro ski route. The permission from the Ministry of the Climate and the Environment was applied for a decade, and the motivations were justified by the growing danger. “It is narrow and with more people on the slope it gets crowded. For safety and comfort of driving, this would definitely be the indicated elongation. The longer, the better, “says one of the skiers in an interview with TVN 24. Currently, the route is 750 meters, and in the future it will be extended by another 250. By 2027 it will also be expanded almost twice. For some, however, this is still not enough.

The skiers are not fully satisfied

Thanks to the reconstruction, the future of skiers from Lower Silesia is painted in slightly brighter colors. Athletes from the voivodship will no longer have to commute to sports centers in the Czech Republic or Austria. However, it will still not be perfect. The route after renovation will not be long enough to be able to organize important competitions on it. All because of the lack of approval of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation, which would be released if the new route was only 100 meters longer. “They will not come to us because they will choose Zakopane or Szczyrk,” says Tomasz Stanek from KS Skivegas Stanek Race Academy.
