The Polish nightmare repeated itself during Wimbledon. “I had better days …”

Magda Linette

Magda Linette fell into a deep crisis in the Big Slam tournaments. The Polish woman during Wimbledon 2025 dropped out again at the stage of the first round of competition.

Wimbledon: Magda Linette fell off the tournament in the first round of the single

It seemed that breaking for Linette this nightmarish, Grand Slam run could come during this year’s competition at grassy courts in London. Poznań co -opted Agnieszka Radwańska to her staff. “ISIA” is an outstanding specialist in the game on this type of surface, in the past, among others Finalist and semi -finalist Wimbledon. With whom with whom, but with Radwanska it was certainly easier – at least theoretically – to make friends with grassy courts.

However, when it came to the single verification, the Polish woman failed to pass the border of the 1st round of the Grand Slam tournament. Elsa Jacquemot turned out to be better than Linette on Tuesday afternoon. The Frenchwoman after losing the first batch after a tie-break 7: 9, in the next installment she broke the Polish woman (6: 1), and then after one break in the third party (6: 4), secured herself promotion to the second round of the legendary tournament in London.

Linette did not hide the disappointment with the final result of the match with the Frenchwoman.

– I think I certainly had better days … (…) After the first set I was hoping, but I did not react as it should, because I lost the second 1: 6. I felt good physically, but unfortunately it failed – Linette admitted in front of Polsat Sport’s camera.

Magdalena Fręch also ended her participation with a single tournament among the ladies at the stage of the first round. Łódź also lost to the Canadian Victoria Mboko, who is only 18 years old. The fring has clearly lost 3: 6, 2: 6.

Linette will perform in London in the doubles competition.
