The airport in Wrocław will be closed for over a month. During this time, passengers can travel from airports in Kraków and Katowice. How can you get to them?
From October 26 to December 4, 2025, the Wrocław airport will be closed. The reason is the ongoing expansion and modernization of the take-off and landing zone, which is why it is necessary to shut down the entire airport. Tourists planning autumn city breaks or all-inclusive trips to warm destinations do not have to give up traveling. “To make your search easier, we will show flights from the nearest airport in Katowice. You can also choose other travel dates or airports,” encourages the message from the eSky search engine connected to the Wrocław Airport website.
Airports in Katowice and Krakow. This way you can get there by train
PKP proposes that passengers travel by fast trains to the nearest large cities. It is worth remembering that these are not direct connections to airports.

Katowice airport. If departing from Katowice, passengers can choose, for example, the IC 57 Wawel train, which will take them to the capital of the Silesian Voivodeship from Wrocław in less than 1 hour and 55 minutes.
From there they will have to travel by Koleje Śląskie train (S19). The “Pyrzowice Lotnisko” railway station is located approximately 500 meters from the passenger terminals.
Katowice Airport also offers discounts for drivers in autumn. They will pay PLN 89 for parking for 6-8 days in parking lots P4 and P5 (for parking from November 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026).
- Krakow airport. In just over 2 hours and 45 minutes, the IC 55 Odra and IC 59 Galicja trains will reach Kraków Główny from Wrocław. A total of 17 pairs of trains run on this route. From there, passengers will get to the airport by Koleje Małopolskie train.
In addition, bus lines 209 and 300 and night line 902 go to Kraków Airport. These are agglomeration lines. The bus stop is located near the passenger terminal.
The Wrocław airport will reopen to passengers on December 4, but the expansion will continue. The planned completion date of the works is December 2026.
