Dulkiewicz: There is no place for acts of mindless violence in Gdańsk

The mayor of Gdańsk commented on the matter. “Scandalous events took place during the 5th league match between Stoczniowiec Gdańsk and KS Sokół Bożepole Wielkie. Instead of sports emotions, there was a brutal fight in the stands. About 20 hooligans ran into the stadium and beat up Sokół fans, including elderly people and even a disabled child!” – she wrote on Facebook.

Aleksandra Dulkiewicz announced decisive action in this matter.

“There is no place in Gdańsk for such acts of mindless violence and aggression. This unacceptable behavior must be met with severe consequences! In the near future, I will invite the head of the Pomeranian Football Association to talk personally about these events and take appropriate steps to prevent similar situations in the future,” she added.

Police: We detained the hooligans who invaded the stands

Late on Saturday evening, the Pomeranian police announced the arrest of hooligans who invaded the stands.

At the same time, criminal investigators from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Gdańsk and police officers dealing with combating hooligan crimes from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Gdańsk were working on the case,” we read in the published statement.

The police secured recordings from surveillance cameras at the scene. Then they tried to find witnesses of the incident and talked to people who might have knowledge about it.
