The Pole won the hearts of fans from all over the world. He competed with many limitations
Łukasz Mamczarz surprised fans from all over the world with an unusual jump during the Paralympic Games. The Pole competed in the high jump with one leg while his rivals used prosthetics.
Poles win more medals every day during the Paralympic Games, which makes fans happy. Currently, the Polish team has 16 of them, including 5 gold. Łukasz Mamczarz did not improve the result, although in his case, fighting for a medal was practically impossible. All because of the rules in which he competed in the pole vault.
The Polish athlete won the hearts of fans
Łukasz Mamczarz entered the competition of jumpers with prosthetics. He himself could not use them, because the amputation was too high. Since there is not the required number of participants in the same situation as him, he could not start in a separate competition. His only option was to fight with those bouncing off the leg and prosthetic.
Mamczarz showed great class despite his limitations. Michał Pol, press attaché of the Polish Paralympic Committee, posted a video on Twitter of one of the jumps of the bronze medalist from the 2012 games. It shows how after a moment of preparation he throws away the ball and, hopping on one leg, confidently heads towards the beam. He overcomes it at a height of 177 centimetres, which translated into seventh result in the classification. In the entry, the journalist explained the circumstances in which the Pole started and the fact that he was doomed to difficulties.
Fans impressed by Łukasz Mamczarz’s jump
There is no shortage of positive comments in the comments under the widely shared post. Fans are very impressed by the athlete’s skills, who jumped higher on one leg than amateurs. Marcin Gortat, among others, reacted to the video. “Amazing,” wrote the former NBA basketball player, adding the hashtag “#brawo” to the tweet.
Łukasz Mamczarz took eight centimeters to get the bronze medal. Ezra Frech from the United States won with a jump of 194 centimeters.
