The Pole dazzled in his debut in the German Bundesliga. Will he become a star of the competition?

Kamil Grabara was named in the top eleven of the prestigious “Kicker” for his debut in the German Bundesliga. The Pole impressed between the posts of VfL Wolfsburg.

The Bundesliga got underway in earnest last weekend. VfL Wolfsburg, with two Poles in the starting line-up, hosted the giant Bayern Munich in the opening round. The team from the Bavarian capital, deeply irritated by the loss of the Bundesliga title last season, now wants to make amends on the domestic stage. However, it was not so easy for them against Wolves, and much of the credit for this goes to the Polish players, both Jakub Kamiński and Kamil Grabara.

Bayern finally won in Wolfsburg, but only by one goal, 3:2. Grabara was even forced to pick the ball out of the net three times, and was selected by “Kicker” to the eleven in the Bundesliga round. The Pole, who moved to Germany from Denmark, where he played for FC Copenhagen in the elite Champions League, will now want to blaze a trail beyond our western border. It seems that Grabara can become one of the stars of the Bundesliga in his position.

It is worth adding that although… Kamiński scored an own goal to open the season, “Kamyk” also received positive marks for his performance. It was not as good as in the case of Grabara, but the former Lech Poznań player can certainly look to the future with optimism.

Why is Grabara, despite playing in the aforementioned Champions League and currently paving his way in the Bundesliga, not being called up to the Polish national team? It is possible that this is due to the words spoken by the goalkeeper, who cannot imagine himself as the third in the hierarchy of coach Michał Probierz. Grabara is confident in his skills and is not worse than Wojciech Szczęsny, Łukasz Skorupski or the third in the set Bartłomiej Drągowski.

However, it seems that for now the issue of approach to the squad – may be insurmountable. Although it is not ruled out that some kind of agreement will be reached between Grabary and Probierz, which will allow the national team not to lose such a good goalkeeper.

Nations League: When will the Polish national team play its matches?

The Polish national team will play two Nations League matches in September. The Poles will start with two away matches.
