The Pole breathed a sigh of relief. She maintained the lead in the classification of the famous race

The sixth stage of the Tour de France Femmes provided many emotions. Cedrine Kerbaol won after a phenomenal action a few kilometers before the finish line. Katarzyna Niewiadoma maintained her position as the leader in the general classification.
Katarzyna Niewiadoma entered the sixth stage of the Tour de France Femmes as the leader of the entire race. In the previous stage she took second place, and Demi Vollering took part in a serious show, which made the Pole jump to first place in the interim classification.
The unknown maintained the lead
It seemed that on Friday Niewiadoma was in control of the situation in the peloton. Even when Puck Pieters moved forward 15 kilometers before the end to win the category III premium, our cyclist stayed close to her. Shortly afterwards, two riders started a breakaway. Among them was Cedrine Kerbaol. However, the Frenchwoman wanted to ride alone and accelerated strongly, building a huge advantage over the peloton.
It was dangerous for Niewiadoma, because before this stage the host representative was fourth in the general classification, 47 seconds behind the Pole.
In the end, Kerbaol could not be caught, but the leading group in the peloton reduced the gap slightly. Niewiadoma came to the finish line in sixth place and maintained the lead in the “general”. Ultimately, she lost 21 seconds to Kerbaol on Friday, which shows how great the attack was by one of her biggest rivals to triumph in the Tour de France Femmes.
Sunday will bring the decisions
Kerbaol, after a great performance at the end of the sixth stage, advanced from fourth to second place, 16 seconds behind Niewiadoma. Third is currently Kristen Faulkner. The American is 19 seconds behind our cyclist. So anything can still happen in the first three places in the general classification. There are only two stages left to go. The winner of the Tour de France Femmes will be announced on Sunday.
