The PLL LOT plane returned to Chopin Airport. Previously, it circulated for 2 hours

An unusual situation occurred on the night from Sunday to Monday. The PLL LOT plane flying to the capital of Georgia turned back to Warsaw. Previously, it circulated for 2 hours.
On the night from Sunday, December 22 to December 23, the Polish Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8 unexpectedly turned back from its route. Although the machine was headed to the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi, this time circumstances thwarted the passengers’ plans.
After reaching 7.7 thousand meters high, the machine changed direction near Sandomierz. Then it circled over Grójec for about two hours, waiting for permission to land (the procedure is called holding). She later returned to Chopin Airport, where she landed safely.

The flight route of the LOT Polish Airlines Boeing can be viewed at flightradar24.com. The PLL LOT press office commented on the matter in an interview with gazeta.pl.
“The SP-LVK plane operating flight LO725 on the Warsaw-Tbilisi route turned back to the airport due to technical reasons. Flights LO725 and LO726 have been canceled and passengers have been offered alternative connections,” we read in the statement.
Boeing 737 MAX 8 is a relatively new machine in the fleet of the national carrier. The plane joined its fleet exactly two years ago, on December 23, 2022. The unique gold decoration was designed in honor of the centenary of the Krosno brand.
A similar situation occurred at the beginning of December. Then the flight from Warsaw to Amsterdam ended quite quickly. Flightradar data shows that near Konin in the province. In Greater Poland, the passenger plane turned back to Chopin Airport. The pilots gave the code 7700, which is the basic emergency alert code.
Some more details were then provided about the reason for the route change. “The reason for the plane’s turnaround was a failure of one of the two air-conditioning lines,” the LOT Press Office informed the Onet portal at that time. After more than an hour and a half in the air, the machine landed safely in Warsaw at 9:22 p.m.
