The PIT 2025 settlement has started. Many Poles make this mistake

Podatek PIT

From today, taxpayers can use the Your e-PIT service and check their tax return for 2025. Experts urge us to pay attention to one issue in particular.

From today, Poles have the opportunity to settle their PIT electronically. Tax returns for 2025 are now available in the e-Tax Office. The Your e-PIT service can be used by all taxpayers, both private individuals and entrepreneurs.

The settlements available in Your e-PIT include data from information from payers, including: information about layoffs. The service can be used 24/7 on a computer or phone – also in the e-Tax Office mobile application. You can log in via login.gov.pl using a trusted profile, e-ID, electronic banking or the mObywatel application. You can also log in using your tax details, and in the case of the e-US mobile application, access is possible after authenticating with a PIN or using biometric data.

Poles are eager to settle their tax returns online, as evidenced by the latest survey by SW Research for “Wprost”. As much as 72 percent respondents admitted that they completed their PIT electronically, and nearly 18 percent respondents choose the traditional form.

Beware of this error. The expert warns

Although the Your e-PIT system is a convenient tool, it does not always contain complete information about tax reliefs and preferences. Monika Piątkowska from e-pity.pl advises to review the form carefully, as you may miss the opportunity to reduce your tax. The expert points out that if we use any type of relief (e.g. relief for working seniors, for young people or relief for families 4+), we should check the amounts covered by the relief, even if they are already included in the advance payments collected by the employer. – There is a risk that these amounts have been calculated or entered incorrectly – says Piątkowska.

The expert also advises to familiarize yourself with the reliefs provided for by the legislator for taxpayers. – Support for a public benefit organization, voluntary blood donation or house warming in the last year are circumstances that, if properly documented, will allow for a reduction of the tax base. – suggests Piątkowska.
