The pilot Ryanair fainted during the flight. Passengers didn’t even notice

During the recent flight of Ryanair from Barcelona to Porto, problems arose. The Sunday cruise of the low -budget carrier was disturbed by the health problems of one of the pilots. When approaching landing, the ship captain suddenly lost consciousness. He was replaced by a second pilot in his duties, so the passengers most likely did not notice any changes. The injured employee recovered and the plane landed normally. An ambulance was already waiting for.

One of the pilots of the machine suddenly fainted shortly before the beginning of the desire to land at the airport in Porto. His duties were quickly taken over by the second captain – passengers had no idea about the events taking place outside the cockpit door. Fortunately, the line employee quickly recovered. Already at 8:19 notified previously about the loss of consciousness of the service received information about “quick recovery”. The plane landed in Porto on time.

After landing, the pilot did not intend to give in to further diagnostics. “An ambulance was sent to the Sá Carneiro airport, where the pilot received help, but refused to go to the hospital,” we read in Portugal Resident. It is not known what caused the fainting.

The carrier calms passengers. “Ryanair has procedures and training preparing for situations when the pilot feels bad during the flight. The plane from Barcelona to Porto (August 10) landed safely at the airport in Porto,” comments the airline’s press office.

Planes flying without pilots

In the past, similar incidents have happened many times in various carriers. Often, passengers learn about them only after years, when the investigation is conducted in the case.
