The “Pearl of Upper Silesia” will attract tourists. A Polish city with great distinction
A small town in Silesia received a huge distinction. Previously, they were awarded, among others, in Warsaw and Wrocław.
The group of Polish restaurants covered by Michelin recommendations has expanded. On Friday, May 22, during a ceremony at ICE Kraków, the new awarded premises were announced. The presented guide confirmed the important role Poland plays on the world gastronomy stage. For the first time, the selection covers the entire country – both large and smaller cities. It was also awarded four stars. Two went to Wrocław, one to Warsaw, and the last one was awarded to a restaurant in a town with 25,000 inhabitants in Silesia.
Pszczyna with a Michelin star
The inhabitants of Pszczyna can be proud – the gastronomy in the “Pearl of Upper Silesia” is at the highest level. During the premiere of the MICHELIN Guide Poland 2026, one of the most important awards was given to the Steampunk restaurant, becoming the first “star” restaurant in Silesia. Time will tell whether tourists will also come for the distinction. Steampunk delights not only with its food, but also with its unique location – on the eighth floor of a former water tower.
Wrocław is becoming a gastronomic powerhouse
Last year, Wrocław was just entering the showrooms – when the latest edition of the Michelin Guide premiered on June 10, 2025, the capital of Lower Silesia was recommended in it for the first time. It took less than twelve months for two restaurants to receive stars in this year’s edition of the Guide. The first of them is BABA na Nożownicza, which has previously received the Bib Gourmand distinction. The second restaurant is Most, an intimate place hidden inside the Między Mostami brasserie.
In total, there are already 10 restaurants in Poland awarded one MICHELIN Star. The following awards were retained: Arco by Paco Pérez in Gdańsk, Giewont in Kościelisko, Muga in Poznań and NUTA, hub.praga and Rozbrat 20 in Warsaw. The only restaurant with two stars remains Bottiglieria 1881 in Krakow.
