The newest attraction in Łódź is called Buba. It’s causing a stir online and attracting tourists

When we first wrote about the dog from Piotrkowska Street, we didn’t expect it to cause such a stir. With each passing week, it is clear that it is becoming a new tourist attraction in Łódź.
A dog with the charming name Buba brightens up the time of passers-by walking along the most popular street in Łódź. There is no shortage of attractions on Piotrkowska, but this one is exceptional. The animal has its own ball, which it likes to throw off the balcony, to the surprise of people. The game consists in throwing the toy back. It is not only the people of Łódź who take part, but also tourists.
The dog from Piotrkowska is a favorite of Internet users
From the videos posted on social media, it appears that some people come to the balcony specifically to play with the dog. It has become such an attraction that you can even find English-language materials about it on TikTok. Regardless of the language, the comments are always positive.
Radio Łódź reached the owner of the dog, Mrs. Agnieszka. It all started only a few weeks ago. “She threw it once by accident, someone threw it away and it stayed that way,” said the Łódź resident. She added that the dog often spends time on the balcony because it likes spending time outdoors.
– Buźka likes to play with a ball, we often play with her in the park or at home. And apart from that, she is a dog that is very curious about people, the world, she is very open, she likes to approach people – said Mrs. Agnieszka.
The madness started with one recording
The first recording of Buba was published by the LDZ Zmotoryzowani Łodzianie fanpage on Facebook. The video showed a black dog standing on a balcony. The animal kept sticking its head out into the street and throwing a ball to passers-by. They responded with commitment to his encouragement to play and threw the toy back. Every now and then, after a successful throw and catching the ball, applause could be heard.
– Once again, the rule proves true that if someone is looking for good fun in Łódź, all they have to do is look at Piotrkowska Street for a moment – said Paweł Śpiechowicz, spokesman for the City of Łódź Office, in an interview with Wprost.
