The new PKP timetable is already in force. A real hit on the list
PKP has organized new connections to many famous cities. It is direct, fast and attractive. Zakopane, which is desired in autumn and winter, is not missing. Here is what you can count on this month.
New connections to Szczecin, Poznań and Wrocław and a direct fast connection between Łódź, Warsaw and Białystok are just some of the facilities that PKP Intercity has taken care of in the new timetable. It is known that now passengers will find more trains to Zakopane, beloved by Poles. There is no shortage of connections with record travel times. We will reach some places faster than ever.
What’s new in the train schedule
The autumn PKP Intercity timetable came into effect on September 1. For over a week now, Poles have been able to take advantage of the special offer. At the same time, they will be saying goodbye to some summer connections, including to the seaside.
It is known that the EIC 1804/8105 Sedina train, which goes from Warsaw to Szczecin, has set off on the tracks. Another novelty in the timetable is the EIC 1604/6105 Lech connection from Warsaw to Wrocław. Both trains are composed of new and comfortable cars received by PKP Intercity one and two years ago.
The new IC 1106/1007 Esperanto train on the Łódź – Białystok – Łódź route also runs on the tracks. It will stop only in the capital. Thanks to this, the journey from Łódź Widzew station to Warsaw Zachodnia will take 58 minutes, and from Łódź Fabryczna to Warsaw Centralna – 1 hour 12 minutes.
There will also be 3 pairs of direct Express InterCity Premium connections from Warsaw to Tricity, without stops along the way. The trains were introduced for the holidays, but due to great interest, they will remain in the timetable until at least mid-December.
The hit on the list is the additional year-round connection from Gdynia to Zakopane. Since September, the TLK 35102/53102 Lubomirski train has been running daily on the Gdynia – Zakopane – Gdynia route. Previously, this connection was only operated between the Tri-City and Krakow. In addition, the daily running of the EIC 1350/3150 Tatry train has been maintained with an attractive travel time. On the Warszawa Centralna – Zakopane section, it is 4 hours 46 minutes, and on the Krakow Główny – Zakopane route – 2 hours 7 minutes.
Record journeys with PKP
The record journey time achieved by trains on the Warsaw–Białystok section is 1 hour and 38 minutes. They now cover this route faster than a car by about half an hour. The direct fast connection from Warsaw to Bialystok is a pilot project.
It is also known that the Express InterCity Premium from Warsaw to the Tri-City runs without stops along the way in 2 hours 25 minutes. The new train from Warsaw to Szczecin will take us a record 4 hours 32 minutes, which is about half an hour less than at present. We will get from Wrocław to Poznań in 1 hour 18 minutes. Have you used these connections yet?
