The new hit of ski trips. This country is becoming more and more popular in winter
This country could not count on so much interest in the past. Now everyone wants to ski here.
The wild and picturesque mountains of Romania win the hearts of tourists. More and more Europeans go here in winter to ski. The current season is expected to be record-breaking in terms of the number of foreign visitors. There are concerns about the capacity of ski resorts that have not been visited by such crowds so far. The most popular resorts are in the Prahova Valley and Brasov. In both of these places, Poles can save significantly on ski passes.
Romania is a new hit among skiers
The Carpathians are gaining popularity among skiers this season. They will be of particular interest to those who want to ski away from high prices and loud après-ski. However, this may be the last, relatively quiet winter season in Romania, although local media are already talking about a sea of incoming tourists. It was hot especially during the Christmas and New Year period. “From the early morning hours, parking lots are filling up, queues are forming at the cable cars, and the mountain terraces are crowded,” reported the Romanian news website G4 Media. The historic results were broken on the slopes in Brasov and the Prahova Valley, where the Sinaia ski center is located. Tourists coming to the Romanian mountains can expect a lot of snow. “This year, the slopes are covered with several dozen centimeters of prepared snow, which attracts skiers like a magnet,” we read.
Other unusual ski destinations
Romania is not the only country gaining popularity in winter. You can also go skiing to Bulgaria, known for its summer resorts, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and even Albania. Madness on the slopes also awaits tourists who decide to spend their holidays in distant Cyprus. In this small island country, we can move from a seaside resort to the white hills of the Troodos range in a few hours. We also cannot forget about destinations for lovers of the cold north. Skiing will be a great idea in Norway or Iceland.
