Update. The search ended tragically. On Sunday, November 9, the Diário de Notícias website published information about finding the body of a 31-year-old tourist.
Foreign media, including timesofmadeira.com, asked Internet users for help in finding 31-year-old Igor Holewiński. “A tourist disappeared while hiking in the north of Madeira,” reports the editorial office of the mentioned website.
The last time the young man contacted his loved ones was on Sunday morning. “Olga Holewińska claims (…) that he was planning a lonely hike from São Vicente towards Pico Ruivo (including mountain trails – ed.)” – journalists found out after a conversation with the sister of the wanted citizen of the Republic of Poland. The woman reported that her brother himself told her about his plans. He also shared his location with her – a place he visited around noon.

The 31-year-old’s family appealed to Internet users
The editorial team – on behalf of the missing person’s family – is asking for help. Anyone who saw the 31-year-old dressed as in the photo is asked to report to the police (Polish services were to be informed about the case). Igor’s sister – Olga – reported that her brother may have considered passing through the tunnel, which is located on the route to Santana.
