The moose fell asleep on the tracks. The train reached Warsaw without several wagons
Due to the sleeping elk, the PKP Intercity “Chopin” train from Munich reached Warsaw shorter by several wagons. The animal blocked the tracks.
An unusual event occurred on Sunday. Emil Emil fell asleep on the tracks near the town of St. Pölten, 60 km west of Vienna. The animal has been arousing great interest in Austria and Germany for several weeks. He does not move on his natural environment, but has already traveled a long route – from Poland, through the Czech Republic and Slovakia to Austria.
Emil’s moose on the tracks. The train started without several wagons
“Emil set off from Poland, traveled the southern countries until he reached Austria. For several days, naturalists have been following his path with fears, because the areas around Vienna are not the right place for elk,” reported PKP Intercity spokesman Maciej Dutkiewicz. On Sunday, the moose blocked the tracks when he fell on them. The “Chopin” train had to move on without part of the composition to minimize the delay.
However, the missing wagons were not permanent in Austria. They were attached to another international composition in Krakow – IC Sobieski.
Wild animals are increasingly approaching the buildings. On Saturday and night from Saturday to Sunday, another elk surprised residents and tourists in Sopot. The powerful animal walked the streets for several hours. Eventually, the city guard patrol and a road patrol from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Sopot took care of it.
Wild animals in cities. There was no collision
In June last year, there was almost a tragedy with elk on the Średnicowy Bridge in Warsaw.
Centimeters divided Pendolino from a collision with an animal on a cross -city bridge in Warsaw. The train from the Central Station to Eastern Warsaw had to brake in an emergency when a wild animal appeared on his way. The speeding warehouse stopped at the last minute and the moose escaped. The foresters managed to bring the individual back to a safe area.
