Another problems in Polish sport. This time we are talking about handball players of Ruch Chorzów. The legendary club was in huge trouble.
A few days ago, we informed about the withdrawal from sponsorship of GKS Jastrzębie-Zdrój players by Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa. State Treasury companies, who have their problems, is not the only problem in the financial context for sport.

There are many times about local government support. Although it is hard to believe, there are many examples related to professional clubs that, without proper support from the city authorities, have no chance of survival. This is the case with the KPR of traffic.
“Today (30.01) President of KPR Ruch Chorzów SA Krzysztof Zioło appeared at the session of the Chorzów City Council. The amount of PLN 200,000 proposed by President Szymon Michałek for our club is a drop in the ocean of needs. Until now, we could count on support from the city and, thanks to the intercession of the city from various sources, for a total of about PLN 1 million. This is not even half of our budget. Despite this, we managed to get everything to the last button, and the effects can be seen with the naked eye. KPR Ruch Chorzów is one of the 10 best teams of the female handball in Poland, “we read in a message from the club from Chorzów.
Indeed, in the case of traffic, we are talking about a nine -time Polish champion. For the last time in 1980. From recent successes, it is worth mentioning the so -called Silesian Cup, which handball players reached in 2021.
“Dear fans, lovers of Chorzów Szczypiorniak. We do not know how long we can bear our club, because we simply lack funds for it. We know the handball environment well in Poland and we know perfectly well that without urban support this discipline will not be able to do. No club in our country is as low as possible from the city as we are at the moment. KPR Ruch Chorzów is a club with an 80-year tradition, which has built the sporty identity of our city for decades. We cannot allow many years of achievements and effort to be wasted by the harmful actions of the new power of Chorzów, “says KPR Ruch.
Currently, the club from Chorzów takes eighth position in Orlen Superliga of Women. The leaders are handball players KGHM Zagłębie Lubin.
