Do you want to vote for the new President of Poland while traveling? You can cast the voice regardless of where you will find yourself this Sunday. There is a way to do that.
The upcoming presidential election does not have to limit us in traveling – both in Poland and abroad. If on May 18 and June 1 – when you get to the second round – you will be on a trip or vacation you can still easily vote. Just take care of one thing.
Voting while traveling
Although some try to avoid it, it happens that sometimes we are on a foreign vacation when presidential elections are taking place in Poland. This does not have to be a problem at all, especially since choosing a travel date, we often act spontaneously, wanting to save on a last minute or choose the cheapest airline tickets.
How to approach the vote then? The presidential election will take place on May 18, so it is less and less time to ensure the opportunity to vote abroad or in any city in Poland.
If you are outside the place of registration during the election, you can do the matter without leaving your home-through e-excavations. Just ask for a list of voters in the indicated city. Applications are submitted by May 13. Importantly, you can also ask for a list of voters in a selected place abroad, but there is another solution.
Voting abroad
Being abroad, we will vote on the condition that a regional election commission has been created in the country of our holiday stay. You can usually count on more than one in the most famous and largest cities. For example, in Turkey we will do it in, among others in Ankara, Antalya or Alanya. In Greece, e.g. in Athens or Rhodes, and in Egypt, among others in Hurghada. It will be a total of 508 election circuits around the world. It is worth checking where the committees can be found on websites and go to a given office.
Earlier you need to complete the formalities. Being in Poland at any City Hall – there is no regionalization – you must submit an application to obtain a certificate of voting right. We receive them almost immediately, showing an ID card. We have time to submit applications until May 15. This is the most convenient option, especially if we are still on the way and we do not know where exactly we will be on the day of the election. With such a document we go to the regional election commission in a given foreign city.
The same rules apply to the second round. This will take place if none of the candidates receive over 50 percent. important voices. Its date was set for June 1, 2025. At the office from the machine we receive voting forms for both rounds.
